Another service project for the books!! These Eager Leaders rallied their community together for a clothing drive! They did it all, from brainstorming the project idea, planning out how to spread the word, communicating their mission to neighbors, picking up the clothes, and delivering them to those in need. We loved seeing them put their teamwork, goal-setting, problem-solving and communication skills to use!

As a culminating service project for our winter session, these students raised money for food-insecure families in the Bay Area. They each filmed a video on the importance of fighting hunger, and collaborated on setting a fundraising goal and spreading the word. We are so proud of them for raising twice as much as their goal, and can’t wait to see these Eager Leaders continue to enhance their communities. Check out their videos here.

The stress of the extensive stay-at-home orders due to Covid-19 has been felt by many parents. Our summer session of Eager Leaders created a YouTube channel filled with educational and inspiring videos to keep young children entertained while alleviating this stress of busy working parents. They set a goal of 250 views, and in one short week, reached over 350. We are so proud of these Eager Leaders for generating fun content for young ones and for taking advantage of quarantine to create something special. You can check out their Eager Leaders channel here!

We loved having students at our Back - to - School workshop! Here, we used the concept of mind-mapping to help students brainstorm and set strong goals for their upcoming school year. Whether they wished to earn higher math grades, start a new club at school, or try out for a new sports team, we have no doubt that they will reach their goals in no time!

We had so much fun last Saturday with special guest Jonah Eisen and our Eager Leaders in learning about reducing food waste! These posters will remain on their fridge as a daily reminder to eat their leftovers, buy what they need, compost their food scraps, and more. We can’t wait to see these leaders continue to fight this issue!

These Eager Leaders were seen collecting canned goods in their local neighborhoods. They established a goal of 200 cans of food, and set out to reach it. They decorated 100 small bags, then knocked on neighbors’ doors and communicated their service project mission. Neighbors were extremely supportive of the cause. The girls ended up raising 216 cans which were then donated to Second Harvest Food Bank for the holidays.

This month, we had the pleasure of partnering with Student Sphere, a volunteer organization that aims to help families impacted by the pandemic by pairing college student mentors with grade school students to provide free tutoring services. Together, we dove into important leadership topics, such as teamwork, public speaking, and confidence. We admire Student Sphere's mission and look forward to collaborating with them again soon.
